General Assembly of WCC-Europe in Talavera de la Reina / Spain
October 22 and October 23, 2008
The annual General Assembly 2008 of WCC-Europe was held in Spain,
in Talavera de la Reina (near Toledo)
and was generously hosted and organized by the national entity of Spain,
Oficio y Arte (Organización de los Artesanos de España).
The dates:
October 21, 2008: Arrival of the delegates / Board Meeting
October 22 and 23, 2008, General Assembly
October 24 and 25, 2008, International Crafts Congress in Toledo
The organisation preparing the congress offered the covering of the costs for the
accommodation (hotel and breakfast) for the WCC-Europe delegates and the bus
transfer from Madrid airport.
We have been very glad to welcome a lot of delegates and guests!

and Spanish Foundation for Innovation in Crafts....
The General Assembly:
It was an open-minded and friendly meeting.....
A number of good proposals was made by the delegates....
Delegates from following countries were present: Belgium-Flanders (Bie Luyssaert),
Belgium-Francophone (Anne Leclercq), France (Sandra Theulé), Germany (Juergen
Wilkens), Ireland (Alison Ospina), Malta (Amanda Salib), Slovakia (Julia Kunovska),
Spain (Pablo Blanco), Sweden (Mio Schlegel), Switzerland (Peter Gutzwiller), United
Kingdom (Clare Twomey).
Some National Entities did sent proxies to other delegates...
We welcomed guests from Ireland and Kazakhstan...
A new Board Member was elected: Bie Luyssaert / Belgium-Flanders
Pablo Blanco / Spain was chosen as "Advisor to the European Board"
Amendments to the constitution of WCC-European were made.
Representatives of the KMK/Karlsruhe Fair Company informed the Assembly
in detail about the upcoming international Crafts Fair "eu-nique" in Germany.
"eu-nique" will be held from June 5 - June 7, 2009 in Karlsruhe.

National entities of Belgium-Flanders and Germany gave a short overview
of their activities in the near past.
The situation of WCC-International was discussed intensively by the delegates
with the conclusion to wait upon the development which would happen at the
General Assembly of WCC-International in Hangzhou/China in November 2008.
