The General Assembly 2012 was held in London / United Kingdom and was hosted and organized
by the WCC-Europe national entity
of the United Kingdom - the Crafts Council in London.

Main topic of the General Assembly 2012 were elections of a new Board and President.
Bernd Roeter, the leaving President (after two terms of office) gave an Activity Report in the
name of the leaving Board of WCC-Europe.

to serve for a period of three (3) years until General Assembly 2015:

EUNIQUE - arts & crafts 2012:
04. to 06. May 2012 in Karlsruhe/Germany
WCC-Europe is the main partner of this European
Craft Fair in 2012.
Special conditions for participation were given to WCC members.
EUNIQUE is well on the way to becoming the leading trade fair for applied arts
and design in Germany and in Europe. The focus on these fields, the international
flair and the uncompromising orientation on quality pay off.
World Crafts Council Europe will be awarding the “WCC-Europe EUNIQUE Award” for the third time.
The selection criteria of the panel of judges include excellent craftsmanship, choice of materials,
originality and innovative aspects. This internationally recognized award symbolizes outstanding
artistic achievement in craftwork.
The winner will receive a certificate, honorary membership of WCC-Europe and a free stand
at EUNIQUE 2013.

Finland is the partner country for the EUNIQUE 2012
The Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress-GmbH (KMK) - supported by her Finnish representation
in Helsinki - recently presented the EUNIQUE fair to design organisations, craftspeople and to the
press in Finnland. A cooperation contract with the Design Association Taito ry was signed and further
a cooperation with the Design Forum Finland and Ornamo, national entity of WCC-Europe.
The great variety of creativeness of the Finnish partner country will be represented at the EUNIQUE 2012
by a great number of excellent Finnish artists and a special exhibition of Finnish crafts.

COLLECT 2012, May 11 - 14, 2012 in London / UK
COLLECT is the premier annual fair in Europe for international contemporary
craft of museum quality in London / United Kingdom.

Originally held at the V&A, and now re launched at the Saatchi Gallery in London, COLLECT has an enviable reputation as a major event on the international cultural calendar, with a loyal audience of
private collectors and museum curators.
Collect 2012 will feature a stellar line-up of artists represented by 31 galleries, six of whom will feature
at the event for the very first time. These galleries from 11 countries around the world, including Japan,
the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden and China, will showcase the finest contemporary craft
from around the world.

European Prize for Applied Arts 2012

Following the great success of its 2009 edition, WCC-Belgium Francophone - in co-operation
with WCC-Europe and Design Flanders - repeats the European Prize for Applied Arts,
from 14th July until 9th September, 2012.
The European Prize for applied Arts aims to reward the best works in the field of contemporary
applied arts and design-led crafts.
WCC-BF is the responsible partner to organize the competition and exhibition of the works accepted.
We are extremely grateful to WCC-BF doing this work and having created this wonderful chance for
WCC-Europe and the European craftspeople to show the best of our countries in the exhibition in Mons, Belgium.

ceramics and glass every two (2) years in Montpellier.
The organising team is searching for films, short films, documentaries, etc. ....

WCC International:
ABHUSHAN-Design Dialogues in Jewellery 2011
WCC-International launched the project “Abhushan”:
“ABHUSHAN: Design Dialogues in Jewellery”, A Convention on Jewellery from Grass to Gold,
February 4-6th, 2011, New Delhi, India.
WCC-Europe prepared the European part of a jewellery exhibition
in the frame of the project
and invited 12 European jewellers.

In February 2011, India was hosting a universal event on jewellery from around the world in Delhi. Jewellers, members of Arts organisations, collectors and curators from several museums such
as the MAD New York were invited for “ABHUSHAN – DESIGN DIALOGUES IN JEWELLERY” to meet
each other at the “SEED TO SILVER” exhibition and discuss at a three days symposium the future perspectives and challenges for the survival of jewellery art – an age old cultural good worldwide.

Special conditions for participation were given to WCC members.
Even though it was only in its second year EUNIQUE could register a huge growth:
more than 400 exhibitors from 20 countries means the number of participants
has almost doubled since last year.
Belgium was the 2010 partner country:
Belgium, which is well known for its innovation and creativity
in the field of applied arts and design, was the official partner country for EUNIQUE 2010.
Belgium has the largest representation of any guest country at EUNIQUE, with some of its artists also featured on joint stands.
EUNIQUE is well on the way to becoming the leading trade fair for applied arts
and design in Germany and in Europe. The focus on these fields, the international
flair and the uncompromising orientation on quality pay off.

"Mind & Matter 2008", Crafts fair in Luxembourg
(2nd Edition)
MIND & MATTER 2008 was held from October 18 to October 26, 2008
at the Luxembourg Fair grounds.
This was the second edition of the International Crafts Exhibition "Mind & Matter"
and once again the show in Hall 1 was a part of the "Luxembourg Autumn Fair" - a fair
visited each year by nearly 60.000 visitors.
