The Easycraft Project addresses the challenges faced by all SMEs (Small & Medium Enterprises) in the European craft sector including individual craft creators, in order to increase their competitiveness in the global marketplace and provide mutually useful information.

The project was funded by the IST (Information Society Technologies) Programme of the European Commission.
It directly concerns all the following European crafts key players:

  • crafts creators & educators
  • craftspeople’s associations
  • crafts-related organisations (museums, galleries, design centres, press, governmental and tourism organisations, etc.)
  • crafts businesses (transport, packaging, commercial intermediaries, etc.)
  • crafts suppliers
  • crafts consumers.

One objective of the Project is to develop an e-commerce platform, tailored to the requirements of the European craft industry and covering the entire craft supply chain, in such a way that it combines innovative state-of-the art technologies and a user-orientated approach, to offer:

  • support for enhanced collaborative work between the players in the craft sector
  • advanced methods for promoting crafts, contemporary products & delivering tailored information to craft producers, promoters, traders, and consumers.

The WCC-Europe is one of the 12 partners working on this important project. This web site is now operational, except for the e-commerce platform which will be soon operational. (For more information, a brochure is available from WCC-Europe).
