The next General Assembly of WCC-International will be held in India:

The General Assembly 2012 of WCC-International will be held in Chennai / India

The dates of the General Assembly 2012 of WCC-International in Chennai, India are:
October 6         Arrival and registration of delegates
October 7         Inauguration – Seminar & Exhibition; inaugural dinner
October 8         Seminar, Exhibition & Assembly
October 9         Seminar, Exhibition and visit to heritage craft village
October 10       WCC General Assembly,
.......................... Election of the new President and evening Gala Dinner at a beach resort.

The tours around Chennai or India for sightseeing etc. will be from the 11th October onwards.
There will be an international crafts fair from 7th to 10th October along with other programmes,
like a film festival, talks of interest on crafts by eminent speakers.

Film festival:
The contest is open to students of recognized colleges / universities all over the world and
the entries need to be of 5 to 10 minutes of documented craft-based topic provided by the WCC.  Contestants will have to send their entries on the DVD format.
Entry forms for the contest can be downloaded from the WCC website as well as a contest specific website. www.worldcraftscouncil.org

The contest is divided into regions:
Asia Pacific Region, North America, Latin America, Europe and Africa.
All approved films will be uploaded to the contest specific site. And there will be three winners.
The finals will be in Chennai with a panel of 5 Jurors comprising of two international, two Indian
and the WCC President.
The first, second and third prize winners will be announced and their films screened at film festivals
like the Montpelier Film Festival and / or other similar festivals.
The first, second and third prize will be awarded
$10,000, $5000 and $3000 (INR equivalent) respectively
The topics for the contest are:
Crafts- A fight for survival
Crafts- The magic of creation
Craft- A signpost of culture
